Privacy policy
How Core Finance Co collects, uses and protects your personal information.
Core Finance Co is committed to protecting your privacy in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). This policy explains how we handle your personal information.
What we collect and why
When we arrange finance for you, we ask for the information we need to advise you on your finance needs and borrowing capacity. We give lenders we apply to on your behalf the information they need to decide whether, and on what terms, to lend to you. We also use it to manage your ongoing needs (such as refinancing) and our relationship with you (such as invoicing and client surveys), by mail or electronically unless you tell us otherwise. We may occasionally send you news, offers or articles; email or write to us if you'd rather not receive them.
If you don't provide information
We can only fully advise you on your borrowing capacity and loan suitability if we have all the relevant information.
Where credit information comes from
Mainly from you, and also from co-applicants, guarantors, your employer, accountant, real estate agent or referees, your solicitor, conveyancer or settlement agent, valuers, identity document issuers, and service providers who help us process applications.
How we store and protect it
We hold information in paper and electronic form, including with third-party and cloud storage providers under contracts requiring them to protect it. We use document storage security policies, system access controls, and only release information to verified people. We keep information only as long as needed or as required by law.
Overseas disclosure
We may hold or process information on overseas servers for hosting, storage, reporting, analytics and system testing, most likely in the United States, Singapore, Serbia and the Philippines. These providers may not always follow Australian privacy law, and may be required to disclose information under foreign law.
Who we share it with
We never sell, trade or rent your information. We may share it with contractors who provide services to us, with another company in a sale, merger or restructure, or where the law requires or permits it.
Accessing and correcting your information
Write to us with enough detail to identify you and we'll provide the information we hold, and correct anything that's inaccurate. There's no charge to request access or a correction, though we may charge a small fee to cover costs of providing access and will check with you first. In limited cases the law lets us refuse access; if so, we'll explain why in writing.
Website analytics
To improve this website, we record anonymous information about how it's used, such as pages viewed, buttons clicked and whether an enquiry form was sent. This record doesn't include your name, contact details or IP address. We may also use Google Analytics and Google Ads to measure visits and the results of our advertising, and Google may set cookies to do this. You can opt out of Google Analytics at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Data breaches
We respond to actual or suspected breaches following the OAIC's steps: contain and assess, evaluate the risks, notify, and prevent future breaches.
